Hilltop Gallery is a non-profit organization run by the Board of Directors and Volunteers. We are always looking for individuals interested in the arts and volunteering with time and ideas. Contact us for more information, and help keep the arts alive!
Hilltop Gallery offers art classes for children, youths, teens and adults. We also have an "Open Studio" where you can bring your supplies, projects and friends, find a seat and meet with other artists to learn, compare, give pointers and create.
*Children's art classes are Saturdays 10:30am to 12pm.
Open Studio & Adult Classes are Saturdays 1pm to 3pm.

Priscilla Nefftys "Nogaleria"
Nogaleria is a project that takes inspiration from our land and history to create art, we shine light on our roots and the importance of passing down the knowledge through generations.
With poetry we tell the story, with murals we paint a picture. Learn about Nogales history through hip hop with us and enjoy the Nogaleria artists’ unique collections.

"Women Breaking the Silence"
This exhibition was created in order for the woman artist to take her creativity and express to the world some feeling, some pain, some nonconformity, something that she took out of the depths of her being and thus made it look like she is a valuable being and capable of doing anything that is proposed. She expressed it by taking out that great creativity that she has inside!
We were pleased to have Artists: Alma L. Rodriguez, Sandra Torres, Yolanda Lopez, Alma Piña, Karla Osete, Elizabeth Weatherbie, Janice Johnson, Faith Posey, Paulett S. Rodriguez, Paola A. Rodriguez, Isabella C. Rodriguez, Gabriel Mireles, Mariluz Burr, Michelle Rodriguez and Melissa Maya Venegas, Carmelita Levin, Griselda Trujillo and Diana Medina along with their art.

Annual Members Meeting was held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 5pm. Before having a wonderfully prepared Carne Asada, the Board Members, friends, family and members of the community got together to surprise Mrs. Johnson with great honors for all she has done and continues to do for the gallery and the community.
Donations for the Carne Asada Dinner will go to the Summer Art Program for Kids.

Barrio Stories Nogales 2021 Bridge Event:
Hilltop Gallery and Borderlands Theater collaborated to open new multi-media art exhibits in Nogales, Arizona. The six week long exhibit highlighted the early life of Nogales teacher, artist and musician, James "Sonny" Peters through photography, video installations and music.
The show ran until April 29, 2021

This exhibit full of wonderful flowers, colors and techniques by Alma Piña, a local artist and teacher, was in "full bloom" in the month of February 2021.
A beautiful showing of paintings by Alma Piña who has been involved with the gallery since it's very first year of exhibits!
This show ran from Sunday, February 21st until March 19, 2021.
Bi-National Santa Cruz River Río Compartido/Shared River Exhibit Featuring Artist from Ambos Nogales, Tubac, and Green Valley, Arizona The binational Santa Cruz River, a waterway shared by both the United States and Mexico.The exhibit featured the creative work by artists from both sides of the International border and has been three years in development. The Río Compartido/Shared River exhibit first showed at the Lowe House Project Artist in Residency in Tubac, Arizona on September 23, 2019.The exhibition was intended to expand awareness of our nation’s waterways as an environmental necessity and an important cultural element.The Río Compartido/Shared River exhibit was co-curated by Barbara Kuzara of Tubac, Arizona and Ricardo Santos Hernández of Nogales, Arizona and Chicago, Illinois.
Mariluz Burr presented
PAIN-TING IT AWAY
Revolves around the idea of transforming pain into something beautiful, and is dedicated to all who suffer or have suffered chronic pain disorders. The array of painting were done as therapy to help the artist release and try to ignore her chronic pain. Burr is a extraordinary artist. Burr has painted murals around Tucson and on the walls of Hilltop Gallery. This show ran from Sunday, November 15, 2020 through December 11,2020.

Every year, his most generous contributions help fund the Children's Arts Programs at the gallery. And, in collaboration with the City of Nogales, Parks and Recreation Center, the gallery is able to house and teach hundreds of children many different arts and techniques.

For many years, the Nogales Chamber of Commerce has worked together with Hilltop to bring the arts and knowledge to the community. The Chamber's President, Olivia Ainza-Kramer, has gone out of her way to help the gallery and the community. It has been an honor and a privilege working with such a wonderful organization.
